1. Athirapally and Vazhachal Waterfalls


Athirappilly Falls is the largest waterfall in Kerala and is nicknamed "The Niagara of India". It is located on the border of Athirapally Panchayath in Chalakudy Taluk of Thrissur District and Ayyampuzha Panchayath in Aluva Taluk of Ernakulam District. 2. Palaruvi Waterfall


The Palaruvi Falls is the 32nd highest waterfall in India and is located in Kollam District at Aryankavu which is just 6km away from Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. There you can see ruins of ancient temples. The water is said to be medicated and preventive for many diseases as it flows down from the forest. Palaruvi means “stream of milk” in Malayalam. It is a single drop, horsetail type waterfall with a total height of 299 ft (91 metres). The Palaruvi Falls is across the Kallada River.

3. Thusharagiri Waterfall


Thusharagiri means “snow-capped mountain”. The gurgling waterfalls of Thusharagiri is snuggled cosily in the Western Ghats. The falls exhibit a unique kinship between the land and water. The best roar of the waterfalls can be enjoyed from the month of September to November. The waterfall with its gentle spray is sure to soothe every eye. The two streams originating from the Western Ghats meet here to form the Chalippuzha River. The river diverges into three waterfalls creating a snowy spray, on the backdrop of the Western Ghats provide an exhilarating and spellbinding sight to the visitor. Of the three, the highest waterfall is the Thenpara that falls from a height of 246 ft (75 metres). Situated at Kodencherry in Kozhikode district, the plantation destination that abounds in rubber, arecanut, pepper, ginger and spices is also a trekker's delight.
